How to manage my Truth!

Updated: Nov 10, 2020

It takes more than applying any beard oil to give you that great beard desired effect. I believe brushing and combing your beard is essential as this trains the hairs to move a certain way which in turn can help prevent razor bumps. Razer bumps occur as the hairs are growing but grow back into the skin. If you brush your hair even at an early stage you are helping the hairs to grow properly so they will not grow back into the skin. Just as you brush and comb the hairs on your head the same applies to the beard.

Choose an oil that promotes softness, repair and shine. I believe it is vital to choose an oil that is 100% organic. This would prevent any adverse reactions as the organic oils are not harmful. Also watch out for certain ingredients that may contain nuts if you have allergies. Oils such as Argan oil contain nuts and a lot of oil companies have this in their products due to the wonderful properties they possess. Avoid oils with silicone based products. Silicone is not good for your beard, although it may look good it will be causing damage to your beard because silicone dries out the beard. It is important to keep your beard nice and moist hence the need for beard oils.

Beard oil is absorbed best when your hair is damp. Either after your shower/bath or just apply water to your beard and dry off until damp for best results. I believe this is essential as your pours open when your skin and hair is wet. The oil will take to the beard very well and I advise to do this every time you apply your oil. Some people apply the oil twice a day, in the morning after shower/bath and in the evening before sleep but this is totally your choice. There is no right or wrong answer there. After you have applied the oil comb through so the oils are being spread within the beard as well as under the skin. As well as avoiding certain ingredients in beard oils there are also ingredients that should be avoided in a shampoo. Some beard shampoos contain Sulphates which is an absolute no no. Sulphates are not good for your skin because they dry out the skin and strip it from the natural oils in the skin.

· Apply shampoos good for your hair and skin

· Apply oil after you have dried your beard to damp level

· Use comb and brush to spread oil throughout the hairs and skin.

· Enjoy your true best beard!
